First Your Move meeting for 2022

Sue James

We had our first meeting for 2022 on 15 February and we had 10 students, (including 4 new students), along with 2 parents and the school nurse. It was a very productive meeting with the following decisions being made for activities for term 1 and term 2 after we discussed the bike shelter not being able to be erected over the summer holidays. We hope that it can be done during the April Holidays.

Term 1. Activities are to be: Ride2School day on the 18 March, The year 7 transition days (which we have already), the Hands Up survey, reward activity from term 4, 2021, and the survey to parents for the year 7 students.

Term 2. Activities are to be: Opening of the bike shelter (hopefully), Bike doctor to do bike checks on the day of the opening and run the passports activity to reward regular riders with an activity with our local Landcare group.

Here is one of the students and a parent with the notes that we took during the meeting. We have planned a busy first semester. It will be interesting to see if Covid has much of an impact. The first couple of weeks have seen up to 75 bikes and scooters in the compound on some days. This is an significant increase in numbers from 2021, which is very pleasing.
