Newsletter article, first for 2021!

Woo hoo, we very excited to announce that TSHS reached gold status in 2020! This made us eligible for a new visitor’s bike rack and a bike repair station. We are in the process of having some ground work done before they can be installed.

Planning for a bigger and better 2021 is already under way. We have an enthusiastic team of students, along with P & C representatives, parents, and some staff on the Your Move working party. We had our first meeting in week 3 and have begun planning for our first event, Ride2School day on Thursday the 18th March. We will have competitions, giveaways and fun activities on the day for any student who rides or scoots to school. Any students, staff or parents who would like to be involved in the working party, our next meeting is 4th March at recess in the conference room. For more information, please see Sue.

This is on the same day as the annual Colour Run – students can ride home so parents won’t need to collect a ‘messy’ child.

Welcome back for 2021 Sue and all at Thornlie SHS! I'm glad you shared this newsletter story as it contains so much information about what you have been quietly up to! You have earned 60 points for your new student team, 65 points for engaging with volunteers from the school community and of course 22 points for posting this article in your school newsletter. There was also a little bonus of 10 for giving us a good read. I look forward to seeing how all these exciting plans come together!

BTW, do you know you have another story "First YM meeting of 2021" from 18 Feb that hasn't been published? Let me know if you need any help with this.

Thanks James. I am waiting to get a photo of our new Your Move banner with some of our students and then I will post the story.
