The Your Move team at Thornlie Senior High School was invited to an online meeting in term 2 with researchers at the Telethon Kids Institute. The researchers at the Telethon Kids Institute are working with the University of Western Australia and the Department of Transport to understand how and why children in years 7 - 12 travel to school and what they see and experience along the way. The Your Move team and our school Principal, Mrs McDonald thought that the research was very important and that Thornlie Senior High School students should be involved.

This term we received a lot of consent forms that were handed out at assemblies last week and this week. The Community Health Nurse spoke at each assembly and told the students about Your Move and the Trek2School study. We even got a new member for the Your Move team! We are now waiting for the consent forms to return and then we will conduct the survey online later in the term for those students who have consented to participate.

This looks like a brilliant opportunity for TSHS, Sue 😊. I'll be really interested to follow the school's involvement in this study. You have earned 25 points for including Your Move in assembly items this term, 15 points for attending this information session, and another 10 points for sharing all the details of the study.
