The Your Move have had a very busy and productive year. This year saw us get a roof on the bike compound with a $15,00 grant from the Your Move and the Department of Transport. TSHS topped up the extra $7,000 needed to cover the remainder of the bike compound. We held an official opening ceremony where the ribbon was cut. Mr Chris Tallentire MP was with us to draw winners of the Ride2School Day.

We are getting installed over the summer holidays 10 new bike racks, which will be able to hold 4 bikes each. Over the last 3 years, we have earnt over $45,000 in grants and rewards from Your Move. The students and staff on the Your Move team are to be commended for their passion and dedication for active travel to and from school.

Some of the activities we have run this year include Ride2School Day, Walk2School Day, Tutu Tuesday, Bike Rescue, Bike check-ups and recently we encouraged students who were participating in Colour Run to ride to school so they did not get mum or dad’s car dirty.

There has been a concerning trend of increasing car travel to and from school in the last 3 years. The Your Move team are meeting before the end of the year to plan for 2023. Their aim is to reverse this trend and see more students coming to school by bike, scooter, foot or public transport.
