Walk to School with the officers in Blue!

Julia Horgan

National Walk Safely to School Day encourages all school children to walk and commute safely to school. It is a great opportunity for schools and families to encourage safe road user behaviours, not just one day but every day.

Children who walk to school have been found to be more attentive and focused in class as well as develop a connection with their community. More children walking to school also means less traffic congestion at drop off and pick up times!

On Friday 10 May we encouraged all students to walk to school. Only upon arrival at this entrance, the children received a cool tattoo and certificate. We even had some special guests in blue make an appearance. It was delightful to see so many families support this national campaign. The weather was superb too! With the rain and storms holding off! Just for us!
