Your Move Day was celebrated on 28 October at our school. Routes for bike-riding and walking were planned with the starting point from two different parks, Edward Millen Reserve and Fraser Park. Our Junior schools students started their journey from Edward Millen, whilst our Prep school children started theirs from Fraser Park. Teachers were stationed along the pathways for both sets of parks, ensuring road and footpath safety for all.
Our students started off at each park from 8am onwards and walked or rode their bikes and scooters to the front and back gates of our school. When they arrived, they were greeted by five police officers who gave out Constable Clare and Care stickers, visors and lots of apples. We had a good turnout and had to keep the event going for a bit longer than 8.30am! All in all the children enjoyed the morning.
We also conducted the Your Move Survey to determine how many children walked or rode to school that morning. Thank you to the Friends of Frayne for helping us out with organising apples from Coles and for the presence of not one but five police officers to greet the students. It was a great turnout as over 250 students walked, rode or took a bus to school that morning.
