We were lucky enough to receive a bike safety check and service for our school, Warnbro Community High School. I decided to make the service part of the prizes for those students that had participated in the walk to school safely day. As I was giving out prizes my first question was do you have a bike. If they did, they received flyer with all the details on it saying you have won a bike service, that I had made up for the winners with numbers associated with their name, which was recorded. Reminders were sent out and PA announcements to remind those that had won the prize to bring their bikes into school tomorrow for the service.

The lovely bike shop gentlemen came and worked on all the winners bikes and then proceeded to check the remainder of the bikes in the bike rack area, and even some of the schools bikes, as they had some time left, which was very nice of them. The bikes were assessed with a checklist and was attached to each bike, so the parents could see what was recommended to be done to the bike, if anything.

Thank you for this great Your Move package, it was a great incentive and the students appreciated it. Please see some photos from the day attached.

Hi Leslie - thanks for giving us this update on how your Super Boost funded bike safety checks worked out. I like the way you used it as a reward for participation in NWS2SD. Last month you earned 40 points for accessing this grant and today you earned an extra 10 points for your reflections on how it all worked out (plus the automatic 16 points for posting the story and photos). I wonder what you have in store for us next term 😊!
