Decorate Your Wheels 2

Ruby tells us how the day unfolded:

All up there were about 15 to 20 entrants. The entries were full of fun & creative. We put up posters around the school, announced DYWs at Assembly & had a discussion about how to judge. We decided to have 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes. The judging was good but hard because I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. The GOOD thing: It was really cool to see all the fantastically decorated bikes & scooters. The NOT GOOD: Some of the kids didn't wear helmets. How I would make our event better would be to make larger posters (so no one could say they didn't know about it!)

Winners are grinners! (Juniors)

Senior winning entries.

Our 1st place prize pack, all wheel related of course!

Mentor's note: Well done, Team! Even with depleted numbers you managed to complete the marshalling, judging, announcing (& re-launching of Wheeling Wednesdays) within the time frame planned. Super effort!

Well, I guess that vibrant orange helmet will go some way to getting more kids protecting their heads! Thanks Ruby for your run down of the event - you have earned 20 points for the Decorate Your Wheels comp, 10 for sharing so many thoughts, and another 5 for getting your youth perspective out there.
