Last Monday afternoon, YM schools in the City of Rockingham attended Term 2's networking. Facilitating was Kieran, COR Community Development Officer (Health & Well-being.) Dominique from Living Waters & DoT YM's Carol-Ann, joined us via Zoom.
Carol-Ann enlightened us on updates to this year's Connecting Schools Grants (always important info!) & the development of the AT to School Road Map which has been endorsed by the Depts of Transport, Education & Health. The aim of this roadmap is to reverse the decline of AT through 24 initiatives.
Kieran then updated us on developments from last year's Bike Month & how one school has taken up a bike workshop in conjunction with the Fathering Project. More updates were given on the wayfinding signage competition from last year & how it is morphing into corflute signage. Below, the planning so far of the 3-sided corflute. We at Warnbro, are especially looking forward to seeing the finished corflute.

Round table discussions were then had revolving mainly on NWS2SD which is always very well supported by the City.
Although our numbers were light on for this session, I always find them an invaluable way to get together with like-minded people committed to like-minded activities. The sharing of ideas & "have you tried this?" is always paramount in our discussions.

Hi Arlene - I always really enjoy hearing what comes out of the Rockingham Schools' Network 😊. The "AT to School Road Map" is particularly interesting - I'll be following the development of that resource. Great to see the artwork too for the coreflute signage in development. You have earned 25 points for participating in this session and another 10 for the interesting details you shared.
