Setting the Scene for 2024.

This morning, at the STRIVE assembly, the YM Team welcomed the school community to YM for 2024. Following is the information Imogen & Arwen imparted:

Good morning everyone & welcome to YM for 2024. We intend making every MOVE count! We are the 2024 YM Team: Ruby, Jess, Arwen & Imogen.

Each Toesday (Tuesday) we run our HU. We will be starting our HU NEXT WEEK, so please make sure to complete & return to the HU box by the following day so we can keep a check on our HU Champions. We will distribute HU forms next Monday, ready for Toesday.

Each STRIVE assembly we will present the Warnbro WalknWheel Award to the Junior & Senior classes with the best Active Transport participation rate. Active Transport means coming to school by walking, cycling, scootering or using public transport. This also means with fewer cars, our streets are SAFER for us. It also means that there is less impact on the environment.

If you must come by car, ask to be dropped off at one of the Guarded Crossings either end of Axminster Rd & WALK the rest of the way. You will feel so much better for those EXTRA MOVES! During the year we will run events & campaigns to encourage YOUR MOVES. We will keep you up to date with information about these.

This term our special events are DYWs on FRIDAY 23rd February & then NR2SD in March. Of course our Warnbro WalknWheel campaign happens every Toesday. Wheeling Wednesdays will be back soon as will Star Cards. So get those feet MOVING!

Welcome to the 2024 journey! Come along & enjoy the walk & ride!

ACTIVE BODY ACTIVE MIND!

Mentor's note: I have it on good authority that the Team acquitted themselves beautifully this morning. The scene has definitely been set for 2024. Well done, Team!
