Warnbro's Walk2School Day. (1)

Since Walk Over October is no longer, we decided to retain our Term 4 walk day & re-badge it as WsW2SD. The Team was out in force at the hosted walk locations for a meet, greet & walk to school. Here is how the Team saw the morning unfold..

On Friday 25th October we met at the Guarded Crossing near Currie St. Everybody who walked (or rode) got to pick something from the bag, got a sticker & had their name written down. We did this so we can have a more active school. Ferdinand.

We organized it first & came up with ideas, then ran it. We ran this to encourage people to choose Active Transport. Beau.

There were 2 other spots where we ran our hosted walks. One was the Guarded Crossing at Axminster Rd & Fairmile St. Our Principal, Mrs Coslani, joined us for her first walk with us. The other was at Kingsbridge Rd & Fairmile St, where Gary (our gardener, who ALWAYS helps) & Deb Hamblin, our Deputy Mayor, walked with us to school. We did this so it could encourage more kids/people to ride/scoot/skate and/or walk to school more often. Lurren.

Above, one of our Wonderful Walker prize packs, all ready for the lucky name to be drawn.

Mentor's note: we rounded off the day with platters of fruit & vegetables served by our wonderful Team at recess.

Good stuff Warnbro! I love how Gary the gardener is such a regular participant in your events - and that you got so many other adults involved too. You received 40 points for this event in your story from the 28th - and as usual with your well written stories, you received 10 bonus points for keeping us engaged and 5 for the students' voices shining through.
