Welcome Luke & Miranda.

Having lost a couple of our Team we are now pleased to be back to our full complement with the addition of Luke & Miranda. Welcome on board the YM Express! Of course we wasted no time "shirting" them up & giving each of them the YM folder which is part & parcel of YM sessions. We've now given them a few weeks to settle in to our YM routine. Here's what they are thinking about the future...

My name is Miranda. I'm in Year 5 & I am doing YM because I want to help kids at school understand why being active & healthy is necessary & what benefits they get from it.One of the things I want to get out of YM is a healthier lifestyle for not only me but everyone at WPS. I also want to feel the happiness of knowing I've made the school a better place. My YM goals are to participate in as many assemblies as possible, to complete 3 Star Cards & to help people be active. Important Team goals are 60% AT school wide by Term 4 & reach Double Platinum by Term 4.

My name is Luke & I am in Year 5. I am in the YM Team to try & get active. My important YM goal is to get others active. I decided that because that is what YM is supposed to do. The important goals for our Team is to get 51% AT by the end of Term 1. I still don't know what that means but I hope we can do it. I am happy to be in the YM Team.

Mentor's note: How I LOVE honesty; hmm think my communication skills need sprucing up! In the busy-ness of YM sessions you sometimes forget that new arrivals did not go through the planning at the beginning of the year & all the "stuff" we discuss to start the year.To be sorted next week!

Welcome Miranda and Luke - and thanks for keeping it real for Mrs Yates! Wouldn't you love to hear a Prime Minister saying "I'm doing this because that is what I'm supposed to do, even though I don't know (yet!) what it means"! Thanks for YOUR honesty Arlene!
