These Socks Were Made for Walking!

On Friday 14th May, our Wellard Primary School students and families took the the streets to participate in National Walk Safely to School Day. We encouraged our school community to walk, ride or scoot safely to school. We were so impressed with the Wellard family’s efforts… yet again!

As an incentive to get as many students participating in active travel, we celebrated with Crazy Sock Day! All students were invited to participate by wearing their craziest socks to celebrate National Walk Safely to School Day. Our student leaders took to the gates with an offer the students couldn’t refuse. Our Wellard Walkers and Wheelers were rewarded by receiving three YourMove raffle tickets! Our crazy deal was one raffle ticket for active travel and one per crazy sock!

We had everything from stripy socks to mismatched socks to lolly socks and even hand socks! Check our our craziest socks below!

Great images Bella - I notice one student is promoting the use of 'natural gas' for active travel 🤣! You have earned 40 points for your NW2SD celebration, plus 10 for giving us all a laugh and an entertaining read.
