Your Move Newsletter - Term 2

We have seen a huge increase in the number of families walking and riding to school this year and we are hoping to maintain this momentum in active travel at Wellard Primary School in Term 2. We used the Your Move Communications pack to write a post in the Newsletter to remind parents of the benefits of active travel.

Our principal also took this as an opportunity to speak out about concerns of road safety and the actions of some students. As many of these concerns were about older students, our Year 6 teachers took action immediately and taught a SDERA lesson on road safety. The Year 6's were asked to write catchy slogans about wearing helmets and the benefits of active travel. Our favourite was 'Your head, your safety!'. Our YourMove team will be brainstorming ways in which we can encourage our older students to wear their helmets at our next meeting.
