Our first event of the year kicked off with 'Leg it round the oval!', a collaboration between the Your Move team and the Be You health and well being committee. The aim was to get staff active with a before school sponsored walk around the oval with the funds collected going to the Autism Association. A large number of staff from both Westminster ESC and Westminster Primary School participated and enjoyed a well deserved cup of coffee afterwards!

Hi Claire - great to hear that the staff have been legging it around the oval, and a real bonus that it is all for a good cause too. In terms of YM activities that earn points it can sometimes seem a bit fuzzy, but the general rule is that they must relate directly to active transport rather than only physical activity. Thus a walk to school event will clearly gain points but something like an "aerobics-thon" won't. In the second category, which your event does fall into, we encourage you to look at ways to add in active transport elements - for example you could encourage staff to do a "park and walk" on the way to school before the event, you could even encourage students to join in in the "park and walk" element!
