End of Term Moving Fun!

The Winterfold Your Move Team ran an active travel campaign for the last week of Term 2. They made PA announcements to promote their idea and build the excitement. Any student who walked, rode or scooted to school during Week 10 were given a raffle ticket. At our Friday morning assembly, the team pulled out three tickets and awarded canteen vouchers to the winners. The Team also announce our Term 3 initiative to the school - Move it Mondays!! More information will come next term on that one.

The week culminated in a fun riding event on the bottom oval during lunch on Friday. Bike riders met Miss Calvert at the bike racks and made their way down to the bottom oval where Mr McKay was waiting. There was a riding obstacle course set up which involved speed riding, quick stops, zig zagging through cones, navigating a narrow path, riding through sand, a small ramp and hill climbs. After some time riding around the course, they then participated in races from one set of footy goals to the other. Mr McKay handicapped the races to make it more competitive.

We had a great crowd of spectators who also enjoyed the event, clapping and cheering from the side-lines.
