Holiday Collaboration and Support

Holidays are for relaxing, enjoying and …. Your Move planning.

And that’s what Annita from Bramfield Park Primary and I did during the holidays. We met up to discuss and plan YM for Term 4 and beyond. Ok, there was a High Tea involved also.

When planning YM, it’s best to start with public transport, which I did using the Journey Planner. Unfortunately the trains were not working that day so it took 3 buses and an hour and half to make the usually 20 minute trip!

We met and enjoyed our delicious high tea while discussing Bike Month and our plans which included promoting SDERA Safety on Wheels lesson plans, dress up your bike competition and regular slow bike races, as well as how I’m using the $250 grant I received from WestCycle.

We also discussed how we form our committees. With such a huge interest in YM at Winterfold I always end up with way too many on my committee and it is currently composed of all Year 6 students. After hearing how Annita decides her committee, I have a number of changes that will be made for next years committee which will comprise of equal number of students from Years 4 - 6.

We also discussed grants and how we are using them as this is Annita’s first year in the program and she got a Gold Grant.
Having someone as motivated and excited about YM as I am to plan and swap ideas with has been the best thing to come out to the PL we both attended during the last holidays.

Wow! Nice planning using the Transperth Journey planner, Julia have you tried the Transperth App as you can track your bus and see where it is. And a Your Move high tea... surely this is a first for the program?... should be more of it!

Thanks Trevor! I figure if you are going to give up your holiday time for work you should make it something fun! And there will definitely be more of them. :) I did use the app too.
