Move it Mondays have begun at Winterfold! The YM Team decided to start a regular active day. After tossing around Fume Friendly Friday and Wheels on Wednesday, they settled on Move it Mondays.
It was a bit of a slow start at the beginning of the term but we are putting that down to the chilly mornings and being the first day of the week. But it is slowly building. The Your Move team are handing our stickers and praises for our Monday Movers! They even helped repair a bike for the owner – it was a tricky chain to get back on! Next term we will be introducing the Star Card system to further improve active travel.
In Room 10, we have taken it one step further. Our early morning task (before the first bell rings) is a Move it Monday activity, We kicked it off with an acrostic poem. Students wrote their own on mini whiteboards and then we wrote one as a class on the IWB. We have a whole list of activities which will probably get us through to the end of the year!
