Winterfold Your Move Celebrates Our Most Successful Year Yet!

One final thing before we close off our Your Move year … we had to have our committee celebration.

First we celebrated all the work we have done in this, our fifth and most successful year yet. We got the highest number of points since we have been part of the program. I started the year with some staff ‘encouragement’ by giving stationery packs to each classroom. This evidently worked as a lot of lessons were done. We ran loads of events including numerous slow bike races, Walk Safely to School Day and Ride to School Day

We achieved Double Platinum and claimed out Platinum grant - as we can’t get another DP grant for a couple of years! The Kindy and Pre-Primary have enjoyed a restock of their trikes and scooters. We also got a grant for bike month which we celebrated for the first time with SDERA Bike Safety lessons and a BBQ breakfast for bikers.

We mapped safe routes to schools and painted footprints and stop signs on the pavement, a few competitions thrown in and a lot of newsletter articles.

We had incursions from Constable Care, RAC Little Legends and TransPerth as well as a first time excursion to the Constable Care Safety School and I attended a PL session for the first time.

So all this celebration called for chips and lollies and sharing the best things about Your Move! It has been a sensational year and I have been so proud of this committee. Sadly, they are all off to high school next year. Time to start planning for my 2022 team!

What a great year Julia. I assume it was the first YOUR MOVE PL you have been to 🤣 - but even so I still can't believe that after all this time it was your first! Have a great break Julia and see you in 2022 if you don't sneak another story in 😊. You have earned 15 points for your reflection activity and 20 points for sharing it all here!

Thanks James. This will be my final story for 2021 as I now have to pack up my classroom and move to a new one! But I will be back first thing in 2022. Hope you are getting a break too.
