Your Move in Maths

Our fabulous GIRN, Ms Hill, did a great Maths lesson on time and linked it to Your Move. Ms Hill worked with the Year 4 students in Room 11 to learn about elapsed time and what better way to do that than by reading public transport time tables.

The class first looked at how a timetable is set out, what each part was for and why the train didn’t stop at every station all the time. They then worked together at locating trains at particular times and finding out when they arrived at other stations, how long the trip took and when the next train would be. They also compared bus and train times and asked why the bus took longer at certain times.

To finish on the lesson in true Your Move style she asked why catching public transport was better than driving cars.

Thank you Ms Hill for a great lesson that not only covered the curriculum but also showcased Your Move!
