2021 pledge: keep the momentum going!

It's been a positive end to a very unpredictable year, with the City of Albany's Green Team recognised as Local Government/Workplace Champions at the Your Move awards last month. The award has been a great way to share the active transport love with our community and our organisation, and renew our enthusiasm as we move into 2021. If the New Year brings a bit more predictability (as we all hope it will!), then we will explore some new ways to be involved in Bike Month (some community events as well as participating in Ride 2 Work Day). We'll also be looking at some new ways that we can activate our path network - especially new paths - to encourage more of our community to take advantage of the walking and cycling opportunities our lovely town has to offer. Here's to a happy and healthy 2021!

Hi Andrea, some great commitments for 2021 there. I've been wondering if there are any items we can add to the Reward Shop for local governments that would help them activate paths/new cycling infrastructure, so if you have any ideas I'd be keen to hear. Merry Christmas!

Great to hear that you plan to run some more events in Bike Month next year and are looking to increase usage of your path networks. It was great to see you increase your engagement with YM this year - you posted almost double the stories and earned around three times the points compared to 2019 - well done! Have a great break and see you next year!
