Earlier this month we launched our very first community TOWN WALK! This event designed to promote active transport in our community and raise vital funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service saw all our K-12 students walk through the town.
We were supported by the local community with a police escort through the town and crowds on each side of the road as parents and business workers greeted us on our journey.
With 100% of the school participating, this was a great way for us as a school to showcase our commitment to the Your Move program, raise vital funds and connect with our community all in one event.
We look forward to an even bigger and better event next year!

I am really starting to get an understanding of the community spirit you have there at both LGDHS and in the town itself - this event really seems to symbolise that. Even though your event might not have involved kids directly walking to/from school, you have used it to promote Active Travel so I have linked your story to that activity which gives you another 25 points.
