Tuart Hill Talk n Walk

Recently Tuart Hill Primary School organised the Talk n Walk activity. I met with my students leaders many times so that we could come up with the best plan. We decided that leaving from four destinations was the best idea - northside, southside, eastside and westside.

We locked in a date and starting destinations, then we decided who would start from where. I made a poster, secured some prizes and away we went!

Although we advertised quite heavily, I wasn't sure what the participation would be like, particularly as it rained that morning. But the weather gods smiled upon us, and the turn out was amazing.

This is Student Leaders Chloe and Izzy leading the westside group.

We handed out Your Move slap bands to anyone that "jumped on the bus", which the kids loved.

This is the southside, led by Mollie.

The turn out was so impressive from the Northside that our amazing lollypop man, Lester, stopped traffic on an adjacent intersection, to help the kids across.

It was such a great turn out and the kids were buzzing. I got lots of positive feedback from the parents too. Of course it started raining as soon as the students went to school so all of the parents got wet walking home!

Hi Wendi - thanks for sharing how the new 'Talk n Walk' activity went off at Tuart Hill. It clearly was a huge success 😄! Pity for the parents ☔ - just another of the little sacrifices of parenthood, I guess 😂.
