WCHS Presents: Themed Thursdays!

The wet weather won't get us down here at WCHS! With all students returning to school on May 18, our Associate Principals, Kelly Wetton and Debra Bright, created 'Themed Thursdays' as a part of our hygiene routine to keep our staff, students and campus safe.

Every Thursday, as students move through the gates to school, they are greeted by staff sporting a different theme – this week Singing in the Rain, last week Welcome to the Jungle – dressed in costume, playing music and decorating our gates to bring a smile to our students' faces.

They were also treated to a healthy snack upon entering school; last week a banana, this week a muesli bar.

Though the weather might have deterred students by arriving to school by active means, we were impressed by just how many walked, biked or scootered!

What a delightful way to start the day! I found it particularly amusing to see a leopard (or maybe a giraffe?) handing out bananas. Is this specifically for students who use active transport to get to school or for everyone? At this stage I have given you 10 points for making this story a great read.

Hi James, the initiative is for all students; however, we still receive a high amount of kids who come to school by active means!
