Team Stirling back in the race

With Sonja Stemler, the new Active Transport Project Manager, and Grzegorz Babiszewski (Mr. G), a City Future Project Officer, the City of Stirling now has two highly motivated and engaged Your Move Champions, ready to reactivate the Workplace Program!

In a first planning session, the 2024 Your Move Calendar was taken as a basis to decide what kind of activities could be conducted and when.

The reactivation plan for the year so far includes to investigate into organising two big active transport events for staff: ‘Face the Winter’ in May and several activities during WA Bike Month in October.

Ongoing activities during the year were also discussed and include writing a little section in each of our monthly newsletters as well as MS Teams ‘Active Transport’ channels to share favourite routes, tips and ideas.

Additional ideas include the reactivation of the Staff SmartRiders, reinstating an e-bike (and e-scooter) fleet and investigation into salary sacrifice options for staff to purchase bikes or e-bikes.

To kick it all off, it was planned to conduct a travel survey, to understand the current travel behaviour, and to advertise the Your Move Program to staff. It would be great to find an Active Transport Champion in each Business Unit to help organise and promote events.
