Despite the heat!

Despite Perth turning up the heat for Ride2School Day Friday 19th March 2021, we had a great turn out for our Your Move event at Hillcrest Primary School.

We had 40 primary students ride and 55 students walk to school. That’s about a quarter of the school.

It has now become customary for our school community to all meet up at the bottom of the hill, before school, for our Your Move events. Families and teachers ride, scooter or walk up to our school on the hill together. It has become a festive way to celebrate Your Move together as a school.

Hillcrest Primary School invites all students with bikes and scooters (and helmets) to participate in a recess and lunchtime activity to improve their skills around our Your Move bike track. The focus is on being aware of your surroundings and other users, moving safely around the path and obstacles.

James (Your Move)

What a brilliant way to leap back into Your Move for 2021 Rachael! It sounds like the combination of adding in the Park and Ride/Walk element along with the skills sessions really helped create a festive atmosphere. You have earned 40 points for celebrating R2SD, with a 20 point "outstanding" bonus for the additional activities, 10 points for all the details and another final 10 for sharing your participation figures. A great start to the year!
