Footprints and Stop Signs

Our Lathlain kids had the wonderful opportunity of stenciling some of our local pathways. The crew were excited to leave their mark on the school and to promote safe ways of walking to school.

The students took to the streets and painted stop signs at intersections around the school to remind all walkers and wheelers to stop and look both ways before crossing the road. They also stenciled in bright blue footprints along the safe routes to school featured in our access guide.

Lathlain Access Guide

We are really grateful for the work put into our access guide. These have been sent home to families in the junior end of our school to help promote walking or wheeling in these year levels as this was identified as one of the barriers during our last hands up survey.

We are the sure the handy map will help encourage those families with younger students to walk or ride safely to school.

Hi Nicholas. This is great news! It's all in place for National Ride to School Day! 🙂 You get 70 points for getting the kids out there stencilling away and making it easier for parents to get to school with active transport. You also get 75 points for getting your Access Guide in place - well done! An additional 10 points have been awarded for sharing the details in your story!
