Wheels in Motion: Lathlain Bike Bus officially Launches Tomorrow

To coincide with National Ride 2 School Day we are officially launching our parent-led Bike Bus. The Lathlain Bike Bus is open to anyone with a bike. The bus leaves at 8am every Friday during term time from the roundabout between Oats Street and Bishopsgate Street in Carlisle. The bus usually gets to school in about 35 minutes. The Bike Bus and the Your Move initiative has been promoted through our school’s website and Facebook page. We recently celebrated hitting first place on the YourMove website. Fingers crossed we are able to keep up this momentum!

The Bike Bus is even making waves in the greater community. To celebrate our launch we have invited councillors from the Town of Vic Park who will be joining the bike bus. Chris Tallentire MLA the self-proclaimed ‘Minster of Cycling’ will also be joining our bike bus launch. It really is amazing to be joined by these special guests. We’ve even communicated with the local police who have given us the go ahead! It is certainly shaping up to being a massive NR2SD tomorrow.

In even bigger news our Bike Bus has been featured on the Perth Now website with a detailed article and interview with Massimo – the parent leading the charge for our Bike Bus. It is absolutely amazing to see how far this idea is spreading. The Perth Now Facebook post has over 1200 likes!
