Winter Walk to School Day 2023

On winter Walk to school day students walk to school dressed in warm cozy clothes. Although it was one of the warmer days everyone still put on their hoodies, hats and scarfs. There were even some frozen characters. When they arrived at school they were greeted with a hot Milo and there was even a winter I-spy challenge to complete. By students walking to school this reduces the traffic on the roads and the parking around the school. It also helps them become active in the morning. It is important for student to be active before school as it helps get our body ready to learn. The 'Move it' crew talked about this with students in assembly.

James (Your Move)

Hi Aine! It is great to hear about the Living Waters Winter Walk to School event - I'm glad everyone dressed for the weather and I hope there weren't too many frozen kids 😲. It is super too that the Move It team took the opportunity to talk about the benefits of active travel to the whole school. Your event has earned you 40 points, the assembly earned 25 points and you also got 15 points for your engaging story 😊. Have a wonderful holiday!
