Bike Month - Carers Lead by Example

There’s definitely an increase in people riding, scooting and walking to Mount Lawley Primary School (MLPS). With the promotion of WA Bike Month and International Walk to School Month via MLPS’s fortnightly newsletters combined with spring weather, a noticeable difference is evident!

MLPS Traffic Management Group promoted these initiatives at the end of Term 3 and within Term 4’s fortnightly newsletters. These messages aim to alleviate traffic congestion around the school, entice people to think and act about using alternative modes of transport and encourages people to commit to making a change.

Here are some photos of parents/ carers leading by example!

Sejla decided to ride on the scooter with her daughter Dalia. Sejla mentioned “I decided to jump on the scooter alongside my daughter as its faster than walking. PLUS, scooters are for everyone!”. While Lisa and Nina decided to ride to school and thought they’d support WA Bike Month that was promoted in MLPS newsletter.

It’s great to see the school community supporting WA Bike Month and the walking campaign to & from school!
