The QEIIMC Trust was wheely thrilled to see so many new and regular cyclists at each of our Bike to Work Breakfasts on 2 and 4 October. One of our local cafes here at the Medical Centre, Coffee Anatomy, kept the food topped up and fresh on both days for over 100 guests!
The Trust also arranged four October maintenance sessions for staff with the Bike Dr. These were booked up almost instantly! The popularity and feedback from this meant we've been given the go ahead to schedule more, ongoing sessions - hurrah! We have them booked in for one session each month, right up until June 2024. Including a session today - that's 40 staff bikes already serviced and ready to roll.
Wedgetail Bikes also had a display set up at the busy Main Entrance of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital during Bike Month. Wedgetail offers people an opportunity to trial e-bikes. Their small, friendly team are passionate about making the mental, physical, financial and environmental benefits of cycling accessible and approachable. We hope to work with them again soon!
We've been helping existing and aspiring active commuters of all kinds get summer ready with reusable water bottles and mini sunscreens too. More updates to come soon hopefully - we're not putting on the brakes over here. :)
