End of Year Hands Up Survey 2021 (2)

Celeste Spencer

During December we conducted our End of Year Hands Up Survey.

Due to our sparse school catchment zone we continue to have a high number of students travelling to school by car as this is the most feasible option, however; we have seen an increase in people walking to school from home and making the change to park at Grenville Oval and walk up the road to school. This has been encouraging to see and we hope to encourage this behaviour in the new school year.

To improve our reduction in carbon emissions and encourage more active modes of transport we have introduced a new Year 6 Student Leadership Pillar. This group of students will assist me in promoting our school’s sustainability and environmental initiatives. We look forward to conducting more activities with the Your Move team next year.

Hi Celeste! Your 21% increase in walking is worth celebrating ✨! Great to hear that families have taken on the Park and Walk (I don't think we knew about that campaign - well done!). You earned 50 points when you uploaded your HUS and I have just given you another 10 for your reflections here on the results. You also earned 60 points for your Park and Walk initative. Enjoy the last few days of term and have a great break 😊!
