St Kieran Bike Education

As part of the Your Move program selected students from Year 4, 5 and 6 were given the opportunity to participate in a four-week Bike Education program provided by the company “People on Bikes.”

This program was offered to assist our school with achieving our goal of helping reduce traffic congestion around the school, improve health and fitness and help the environment.

Students refined their cycling skills, practiced using important safety skills and were also taught how to perform safety checks on their bikes and helmets and had a great time doing it. With the help of Christina from People on Bikes, one of our students successfully learnt how to ride a bike without training wheels after only two sessions!

Now there will be sunnier days ahead, we are encouraging students to think about cycling, scootering, or skateboarding to and from school!

Hi Celeste - I'm so happy to hear that People on Bikes are running their sessions at St Kieran (please say hi to Christina for me 🤗!). It is wonderful to hear that one of your students is up and going so soon with no trainer wheels. You have earned 80 points for your bike ed sessions, plus 10 points for giving us a great story.
