Another year done and dusted! We are so proud of our Wellard families and the efforts they have made to be more active!
This year Wellard has…
•Set up our Wellard Walkers and Wheelers Active Travel Days
•All of our Year 5 and 6’s participated in Bike Education
•Our Year 4’s visited Constable Care
•National Ride to School Dress Up Your Bike Competition
•Accessed the 2022/23 Connecting Schools Grant and have organised for the servicing of 20 bikes next week.
Yesterday, our student leaders dispersed amongst the school to survey classes from Years 1 - 6. We had 440 students participate in our survey.
•64% are travelling to school by car.
•16% are cycling to school.
•0% are catching the bus/train
•17% are walking to school.
Although we still have majority of our students being driven to school, the number of students walking and cycling to school has increased!
We are very much looking forward to 2023 and hope to see more families choosing to walk and ride to school!
