Wellard's 2022 Silver Connecting Schools Grant

This year, Wellard was able to access a 2022 Silver Connecting Schools Grant. We used this grant to access a Bike Maintenance and Repair Workshop with Peoples on Bicycles!

The team was so easy to work with when arranging a time and date and so many of our kids were looking forward to seeing this initiative in motion. We had 20 families register their bikes to be serviced.

On Wednesday, we had Thurston from People on Bicycles come into Wellard Primary School to do some repairs on our bikes. He worked at the school all day doing safety checks and our students loved walking past and asking questions about the process. Our Year 4's went out to sit with Thurston at the end of the day to pick his brains about his process and ask some questions.

20 extremely happy Wellard Walkers and Wheelers went home with well oiled bikes with pumped up tires. We are so appreciative of the work that People on Bicycles did!
