National Walk Safely to School Day

Highgate Primary School had a fun filled morning walking to school last Friday!

It was fantastic to see so many families gather together at Hyde Park and walk to school on “Walk Safely to School Day 2021". Naturally, at Highgate, we always encourage our students to safely cycle, walk, scoot or skip to school every school day, but Friday was a promotional day across Australia to remind us all of the benefits of not driving to school.

We would like to thank Mr John Carey MLA who joined with us as we walked to school as a group.

Each student that participated in this event was rewarded with a Walk Safely to School Day temporary tattoo upon their arrival at the Highgate Primary School gates, distributed by our Your Move Team Leaders.

Great photos Annelie! And it is wonderful to see the support you have received by both John Carey MLA and Laine Macdonald MLC. It certainly looks like Highgate students were out on the streets in force! You have earned 40 points for your NWS2SD celebration, 25 points for including a "Hyde Park and Walk" element to the day, and another 10 points for putting together an engaging story. See you soon! 😃
