Reflection of Term 1 Hands up survey

On Tuesday 20 February we had our Year 6 student leaders go around and complete the hands up survey with all our classes. From the results I have seen that we need to encourage and spread the word of active travel to remind students and their parents of the benefits of active travel. 77% of our student population came to school via car; 17% rode their bike or scooter and only 7% walked. We have many strategies planned to increase active transport at Pine View PS such as Bike education lessons and participating in events which includes National Ride to School day. Hopefully we can motivate and encourage our community to become more active.

Yes - many school have found the recent weather seems to have negatively affected their AT results this month. It is wonderful that you already have NR2SD and Bike Ed on the agenda as means to get everyone active again 🙂. On top of the 50 points you got for submitting your HUS results, you have earned another 10 for your reflections here.
