Ride2School Day 2024

Last Friday, 22 March was National Ride2School Day. Pine View PS recognise this day as an important event on the calendar. Our school is always promoting the use of active transport as the main method to get to and from school. Ride, walk or scoot is the message given to our community and the benefits associated with these activities.

88 students used active transport to travel to school last Friday, 48 of those were bike riders. This is over 30% of our student population. Our goal is to have over 50% of our student population use Active Transport so we are heading in the right direction but still have a way to go to reach that goal.

Those students that rode their bike or scooter to school and had an Australian safety standard helmet were able to use their bike / scooter at lunch time for some activities such as an obstacle course and slow bike race.

Several students commented that this was 'The best lunchtime ever!"

Hi Clayton. Great to hear that Pine View PS had a successful NationalRide2School Day! You have earned 40 points for participating in the Big Day, 30 points for organising the slow bike race and 10 points for sharing the stats with us! The Walk Safely to School Day is 10th May if you are looking for another great active event to put in the calendar! 😁😁
