Get on Board with Transperth - Travel Day 2

Thursday the 19th of August, on the second day of the Leadership labs, Scarborough PS followed the same means of getting to the venue by using Active Travel to Tuart Hill. Wow! Lots of rain! Despite the downpour throughout our entire 1.8km walk either way to the venue from our bus stop, and sun showers on the return to SPS journey, the team had such a great attitude and welcomed the walk. Like I said in my previous story, it did not deter our team. We were well prepared and equipped with umbrellas and raincoats! So, we just celebrated the rain, with playfulness and good humour along the way! Dark clouds and continuous rain on the way there! Beautiful sun showers on the way back! Thanks to active travel we could explore our surroundings and we even met a friendly Granddad with his grandson heading to and from their school on the same bus on both days! He was asking all sorts of questions about our excursion and Your Move!

It is important to note how easy it is to plan a journey through Transperth group ticketing system! Again, we jumped on board and used the Transperth public bus. It was quite a treat when we got on the bus and bus drivers knew we were travelling on their bus; they were informed prior to our group getting on! The great thing about using Transperth for travel for excursions, is how easy and efficient it was to ‘get on board’ from planning the journey to actual journey! We will consider this way of travel for excursions in the future!

In addition, SPS Your Move team can start to convince our school community that no matter what the weather brings we can ALWAYS choose the ACTIVE TRAVEL means to get to and from school! The fact of the matter is walking, riding, and scooting to school is healthy and we can definitely get moving on those wet and windy days! No excuses!

I would like to give a special mention to David McMahon from Transperth for making this such a smooth journey. Not only getting us to and from our venue on time, but how easy he made it to get on board using this option and be active travellers with Transperth at Scarborough Primary! THANK YOU!

You should work in marketing for Transperth Sandy 😁! You have earned another 20 points for another excellent wrap of the team's experience in using Transperth for their excursion.
