Term 1, TTATT Active Travel Days! SPS hit target with an average of over 60%.

As part of our regular active travel days at SPS, we take data for two days of the week to ensure both Kindy classes get involved, as well as, to ensure that we can help families and school communities to look at reducing car travel and plan their week around the two days. We still encourage families to take AT everyday where possible! SPS would love to take data daily, but that would involve the student team leaving their classes too often! This term has been brilliant for the whole school regular TTATT (Tuesday & Thursday Active travel Trial) competition we have once again hit the ground running! Last few weeks we examined the ‘behaviour change’ of the students following the event days and just the Tuesday and Thursday competition days.

Well, we are thrilled to see over the term that on both days SPS have reached over 60%. Our principal, Mrs Quantock, who announced at an assembly that our target to be 60% or above. All but one day, we reached over that target. Last Tuesday we were down at 59%. This was the lowest result of the term. The final day of TTATT was Thursday, which was an event day too, and we reached 71%. Looking at these last few days throughout the term one, the active travel percentage fluctuated as noted – 61%, 66%, 61%, 59% and 71%. We conclude that SPS have still maintained and reached an average over 60% to close out term 1. We will launch these competitions again next term to keep the TTATT momentum going! With the weather changing and possibly swimming lessons kicking off term 2, SPS will need to dig deep to get these stats to stay at 60%. Congratulations SPS! Term 1, a terrific result!

Hi Sandy - these results are just brilliant! Supporting and building an AT culture the way SPS is, is what it takes to create the changes we need to make! Kudos plus! 90 points for your regular AT day, 20 for this reflective and positive story. 🤩😎😃🌞🚲
