The Leadership Lab kicked off today! Scarborough PS attended our first day of the City of Stirling YOUR MOVE Leadership Lab workshops at Tuart Hill Community Centre! Our 10 students were fortunate to be invited to attend this amazing event. Our team consists of the original team members from when we first joined the YOUR MOVE program in term 4 last year, and now this term, we have just recruited some new team members from Year 3 and Year 4. In addition, our Sustainable Leaders in Year 6 together with our School Captains. Just last week we had our first opening meeting briefing to welcome our new members!!

Over the course of day one of the Leadership Labs, these sessions gave the students increased skills and knowledge about Your Move, through the engaging Cat and her team from Millennium Kids, special guest speakers; from Department of Transport, Department of Education, the RAC and a visit from our very own Mayor of Stirling Mark Irwin. These new skills will help the students develop confidence to implement a successful sustainability project at our school.

In our groups the schools discussed the visions for the future, and they scribed and illustrated what they loved about our communities then explored areas where they noted down what things they want to change or improve.

It was a wonderful day full of exploring ideas, sharing thoughts and opinions and the students were buzzing, feeling inspired and motivated to explore day two! We are excited to return tomorrow! Thanks, Your Move for a fabulous introduction to the Leadership Labs!

Excellent that your new team members joined in time to attend the Leadership Labs! You have earned 60 points for your new team in 2021 and 50 points for all attending the session (plus 20 for maintaining your high standard of story telling Sandy 😊). Don't forget to let us know about Day 2 for another points boost!
